Despite the UN, AU, and ECOWAS intervention efforts for an end to the Malian problems, the protests continue in Bamako and across the country. there might be more protests because there are two main groups in the conflict - the president's supporters and civil society groups who are the main street- runners in the protests. The opposition political parties have dropped their original 'president must resign' demand. This was reached after much behind close-doors discussions led by the UN, AU and ECOWAS.
