Recent conflict between Iran and the USA cannot be good for the protesters in Iran, those who seek peaceful, democratic change and re-structuring are hurt by open conflict with the West, the beating of the war drum, solidarity with the homeland, all distracts for the need for reform at home. In Iran, unlike Hong Kong, some commentators came to see the US President Trump as the protesters' worst enemy. This may be changing, however, as tensions between Iran and the USA continue to play themselves out in Teharan and elsewhere in the country.
