Thousands of anti-governments protesters have been marching in Bamako and across the country calling for the immediate resignation of President Ibrahim Keita. The protesters named economic hardship and Mali's insecurity. The government have failed to end the long running jihidist and the Islamist insurgents in the Sahel region. Supporters of the president are rejecting any resignation of President Keita. Meanwhile, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is making frantic efforts to reach political peaceful settlement between opposition groups and the government.
The opposition coalition block is complaining the government security forces have raided their headquarters, arrested and detained many of their leaders while they were in the building. Those detained on Friday include Choguel Kokala Maiga, Mountaga, Issa Kaou Djim, among others.
The protesters over run the national broadcast station. It is not clear if damages were done.
